On Sunday, May 16, Paul White began having severe chest pains. White is the superintendent for Robins and Morton, the construction company HCA is using for the 4th floor south tower expansion — HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood Heart Hospital. He asked his wife to take him to the HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood Emergency Department (ED). “When I walked in, I told the nurse at the desk I had severe chest pains. She reacted quickly. Everyone in the ED was very helpful and immediately took me back and hooked me up to various machines. My wife said the doctor was watching me closely but not sure I had a heart attack yet. He did not like the way the numbers were going. He called in the cath lab team and Dr. Khaled Khalaf happened to be on call.”
