Dr. Aakash Shah is a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Electrophysiologist (EP) at Vital Heart & Vein, where he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. With a deep commitment to patient care and a passion for advancing heart rhythm management, Dr. Shah uses state-of-the-art techniques to offer personalized and effective treatment options to patients struggling with arrhythmias. 

After completing his Bachelor’s in Science with High Honors at the University of Florida, Dr Shah pursued his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.  Dr. Shah pursued his specialty residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona In Tucson, AZ. Dr. Shah was recognized and prestigiously selected among the top of his class as a Chief Resident and Faculty at the University of Arizona.  

Dr. Shah then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, Arkansas. Finally, he further subspecialized by completing a fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP), gaining extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of complex heart rhythm conditions such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, bradycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and heart failure-device related therapies at the University of Texas Houston, McGovern Medical School. Dr. Shah also was selected and served as a Chief Fellow during his EP fellowship.     

Dr. Shah is proficient in a wide range of advanced electrophysiological procedures, including catheter ablation, pulsed field ablation, pacemaker implantation (including Left Bundle Branch Area pacing as well as Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy), leadless pacemaker implantation (including single and dual chamber leadless pacemakers), loop recorder implantation, and defibrillator therapy. He specifically aims to focus on minimally invasive interventions that promote an improved quality of life. His approach to care is centered around developing individualized treatment plans that prioritize both the health and comfort of his patients. 

Dr. Shah has been actively involved in research, contributing to advancements in the field of electrophysiology. His work is focused on improving patient outcomes through innovative treatment strategies and the latest technologies in arrhythmia management. He regularly attends and presents at national medical conferences, ensuring he stays at the forefront of new developments in the field.
