April is Minority Health Month, a time to spotlight health disparities and take action.
Dr. Cindy John, a cardiologist with Vital Heart & Vein, joined CW39 to discuss the heart health challenges that disproportionately affect communities of color—from high blood pressure and diabetes to earlier, more severe cardiovascular complications.
“Change starts today,” said Dr. John. “It has to do with talking to each other, talking to our friends, talking to our family, really making it normal to do things like getting those yearly physicals.”
